              Happy Birthday To Me

33 years old, and starting from scratch.
The world as womb. My time has come.
As young, and as old, as I'll ever be.
What lies beyond? Which doors do I close,
what part of me do I take with me?

Thank you both. :)

Floots, you're not old. You just run too much. Too many mountains where you live. :)

Is each of our birthday's a reincarnation? And do we die each time before we reincarnate? Smile.

Hi Gilbert
Happy Birthday.
I am not much of a poetry reader myself but will put your blog on my must-read list as I enjoy your pieces very much.
My only claim to fame ( in literary circles)is that I have a poet as a niece ie Judith Huang, altho most times, I don't understand the profound stuff you guys write about! Ha ha
Please continue to enrich our lives with your gifts!

Birth and rebirth. The year swings round and we get an opportunity to start counting all over again, in many ways. The world as womb and we emerge again and again.

Belated happy birthday, Gilbert!

Happy belated birthday to you!

I just turned 40 in March, and I completely relate to the feeling of rebirth. I love being forty; I love the combination of still being young, but having enough years behind me to have acquired some wisdom. I sometimes also feel as if I'm "starting from scratch." I've pretty much decided to take all of me with me, since I've finally learned that I need even the faulty parts.
